Kiosk / Give & Take
Location: Burnaby Gallery Off-site at Metrotown, BC.
Designer: spacemakeplace
Photography: spacemakeplace
Presented as an offsite project for the Burnaby Art Gallery, KIOSK is a temporary installation at Civic Square, Bob Prittie Library, Metrotown, that played host to a series of unique public art projects in Summer 2013.
Designed by artist/designer Rebecca Bayer of spacemakeplace to evoke the form of an information booth, the structure acts as a base for a series of projects that launch from the form and function of a kiosk. Six local and international artists alternated sharing and transforming the purpose-built structure through the months of July to September.
Commissioned by the Burnaby Art Gallery with support from the BC Arts Council, KIOSK presented performances, installations, exchanges, and conversations for a pedestrian public to encounter.
Curated by Shaun Dacey. Construction by Mark George/Nagy-Ne.
